I help artists turn promising ideas into clear, compelling, production-ready visual concepts. With more than 25 years of experience as a concept artist and art director in AAA video games and themed entertainment—including work at Treyarch on the Call of Duty Black Ops franchise and at Walt Disney Imagineering—I offer practical insight into both the creative and professional sides of the industry.

Throughout my career, I’ve developed ideas from early blue-sky exploration through visual development, design refinement, and final production. I’ve learned how to transform broad concepts into focused visual solutions, make stronger design decisions, communicate a creative vision, and adapt work to meet the needs of a project.

As a mentor, I provide hands-on guidance tailored to each artist’s goals. Together, the mentee and I can develop ideas, explore multiple design directions, strengthen composition and visual storytelling, refine color and lighting, and take a concept from rough sketches to a polished final presentation. I can also help the artist evaluate their work, respond to feedback, identify areas for improvement, and build a portfolio that communicates their skills and potential effectively.

My approach is collaborative and focused on helping the artist understand the thinking behind professional concept art. Rather than simply telling the artist what works or doesn’t, I’ll explain why, demonstrate practical ways to approach creative challenges, and help the artist develop a repeatable process they can use independently on future projects.

The value of this mentorship goes beyond improving a single piece of artwork. The mentee will gain clearer design strategies, stronger problem-solving skills, greater confidence in their decisions, and a better understanding of how to present their work professionally. My goal is to help the artist become a more thoughtful, versatile, and self-sufficient artist—with a clearer creative process and a portfolio that reflects their potential.
